Here are some photos of the gift albums I gave to family members this Christmas. They were so fun to make. I used these neat 6×6 inch accordion-style albums from EK Success. They come in great colors and designs and I love the pretty ribbon closures! I know I’ll be making these again in the future.
The trick to making them look great is to use images that fill up most of the page, for impact. This isn’t too hard to do in a 6×6 album. It’s best to use photos that have a common thread or theme. To give the whole album a uniform feel, I use some photos that have had the colors muted (there are several techniques for doing this) and convert the rest of the photos to black and white.
For this album, I designed the pages on the computer, printed them out on nice paper and adhered them with spray adhesive so that they were completely flat on the page. I really like the neat, clean look this creates. You could also get a similar effect using traditional (paper) scrapbooking methods. The key is to avoid letting your pages get too bulky, otherwise the album will not fold properly.
