Recently, the people from Indigo Rose Corporation contacted me to offer a free copy of their Scrapbook Max software in exchange for a review. I have been playing around with the software, and I made a couple of pages to show you. Check it out:

Scrapbook Max Product Review
I’ve never really written a product review before, but I thought I’d give it a shot, because I get SO many questions from my readers (not to mention my friends and family) about how to get started in digital scrapbooking. I’ve found that there are lots of scrapbookers who want to try digital scrapbooking, but are intimidated by the idea of using computers and software. The makers of Scrapbook Max claim that it is a fun and easy way to create digital scrapbooks. Here’s a quote from their website:
With an easy-to-use design space, sophisticated tools, and fabulous scrapbook content, you’ll be making spectacular layouts in no time! Then, share your scrapbook creations with friends and family in an exciting variety of high-quality print and digital formats.
For my digital and hybrid scrapbook projects, I have always used Adobe Photoshop and Photoshop Elements, and I just LOVE them!!! But I can see why people new to digi scrapping might be hesitant to jump right in with Photoshop software, due to the expense and the time commitment it takes to actually learn to use the software.
If that it is how you feel, then Scrapbook Max just might be the product you’re looking for! It is very simple to use, but it allows MUCH more creative control than some of the other “simple” digital scrapbooking software programs. In fact, I’d say the level of creative control is one of the best things about this software. Even the pre-made pages are in layered format, so that each element can be manipulated to your heart’s content.
If you have never tried digi scrapping before, you might want to start with one of the pre-made scrapbooks which have 5 already laid out pages ready for you to add photos to. A few clicks later, and your photos are added and ready to go! Then you can decide to publish your finished scrapbook to video, CD/DVD, slide shows, screen savers, share in an online gallery, email or even make high-quality prints! I love the fact that you can add music too, wouldn’t it be fun to make a DVD to share with loved ones?
After you’ve gotten used to digi scrapping you might want get even more creative with your pages. Scrapbook Max allows you to start scrapbooks with blank pages too, so you can use the scrapbook papers and elements included with the software to make your own unique layouts. Or you can even use other digi kits you find elsewhere online!
Even though this software does not have all of the tools available that Photoshop software has, it really does offer a huge range of possibilities and it handles most of the basic digi scrapping techniques. Scrapbook Max is a great choice for the beginning digi scrapper!
