My mom sent me a link to this video, and I just had to share it here too – it really moved and motivated me! I hope it will do the same for you.
Interested in helping to provide clean water to developing countries? You can make a donation right here (I did!):
https://www.water.cc/give/ . You can even make the donation in some else’s name and send them a beautiful e-card to tell them about it .
I enjoy giving to various charities throughout the year, but there is something about Christmas that makes me want to give even more than usual. Partly because I feel so blessed myself, and I want my blessings to overflow into the lives of others. But mostly it is because I feel compelled to give when I think about the true meaning of Christmas: God’s greatest gift to us, his son Jesus Christ.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
I love love LOVE Christmas and all of the many joys of the season, but I can honestly say I get the most joy from giving to others, especially those who need the most!
Here are some scrapbook pages about Christmas giving… you didn’t think I would have a post with nothing scrappy in it, did you ?
The first one is by Oriana, I was so impressed and inspired by her idea!
These next two are by me – Gabe and two of his cousins each packed a shoebox for Operation Christmas Child again this year. This tradition gets more fun each year as the kids get older and have a deeper understanding of the meaning and significance of giving to other kids. If you want to see Gabe with his box from last year click here .
What is your favorite charity to give to at Christmas time? Have you scrapped about your giving traditions? I’d love to hear about them ! {HUGS} Jess
hi! Thanks for your email! Instead of giving gifts this year (on my husband’s side) we are giving to Village School International (http://www.villageschools.org)- a great ministry in Tanzania for educating children.
Also, we drew names on my side and then gave to Lang Fang Orphange in China (http://www.philiphayden.org)This is one of our favorite ministries that is close to our hearts because we helped them when we used to live in China 2 years ago.
These are our three favorite ways to give!!!! Love the Christmas card idea because it creates more awareness for these groups. I think I’ll copy that idea next year!
Wow, thanks for sharing those Melissa! Our church takes a Lottie Moon offering too, and we just gave ours this morning – what a wonderful ministry !! Merry Christmas!! ~Jess
How wonderful that you shared the video on your blog. I think it is such an important message for American Christians. It gives me joy to know that you have joy in giving! XO

We also gave to the Lottie Moon Christmas offering at our church this year. We like it because 100% of the funds go to international missions.
