100 Days of Summer Scrapbook Ideas {Day 5: Nature Photography Tip}

Today’s summer scrapbooking tip is a quick one, but it’s something I hadn’t thought of until recently when I saw a similar style on a professional photographer’s site.

If you will be spending time outside this summer, you might enjoy this tip for photographing nature: try positioning yourself behind some natural foliage or flowers and shooting through them to create a dreamy look around your subject. You will need to be careful that your camera is focused on the subject of your photo, so that the leaves or flowers in the foreground become blurry, not vice versa. I have seen this effect done with portraits too!

This page is another one from my Summer Flowers photo book, the paper is from my Loveliness freebie :).

Valentine Hearts Digital Scrapbook Paper {Freebie}

It’s almost Valentine’s Day! Here are some crazy doodled heart papers I plan to use for Valentine crafts this week with my kids. Thought you might like them too! Please let me know if you put them to good use, that always makes my day :)!! xo

Ideas for Valentine’s Day Scrapbook Pages

Happy February 1st, my friends :)! I LOVE Valentine’s day, and thanks to my Valentines, Hearts and LOVE board, on Pinterest, I have sooo many more great ideas for celebrating this year :)! We had lots of fun last year at Valentine’s Day too, here are a few digital scrapbook pages from my winter 2011 scrapbook using two of my freebies:  the So Flirty Kit and the papers included in the Printable Candy Boxes.

I did a little photo shoot with the kids in their “I Love Daddy” shirts before Valentines day, then on Valentine’s morning the kids wore the shirts to breakfast and gave the photos to their dad :). Later, we had a little family Valentine’s party – complete with red roses for me, from my loving husband :)! Hopefully, we’ll get to do something like that this year, too. What does your family do for Valentine’s Day?

Today’s Inspiration: Pink, Shabby Chic and Roses

My family is on their way to visit so I should be getting the house ready, not procrastinating at the computer right now, but when I saw today’s challenge at shimelle.com I just had to join in :).

I am a huge fan of Shabby Chic style decor, so the guest bedroom in our house is just as pink and pretty as you can imagine :). I realized this morning that now is a great time to take some photos in there, because soon that room will be transformed into the new baby’s nursery (OK, so it will still be very Shabby Chic, but it will not look the same as it has for the past 5 years).

These photos make me want to pull out my lovely pink scrapping supplies and finish some more of my wedding pages :). I am totally inspired by all flowers – especially roses and of course, by any shade of PINK!

P.S. Here’s a fun fact for you: The search engine term “Shabby Chic” is one of the top ten searches that lead people to this site, and it’s the only one in the top ten that is not scrapbooking related. As of right now, it has lead to over 7,524 visits!
